David founded Capital Value performing business valuations in 2002, and he and his business partner Chris Younger formed CVA (the investment bank) in 2005 with a mission to ensure entrepreneurs get the most out of their investment of time, energy and money in their companies. Sharing similar values and a passion for helping entrepreneurs, David and Chris felt they could do a better job for entrepreneurs and have had a great time helping clients ever since.  Today, CVA has provided sell side and buy side merger/acquisition services to hundreds of clients across multiple industries.  In addition to its investment banking services, CVA also provides valuation and board advisory services.

Prior to CVA, David was the lead business development officer responsible for developing growth and exit strategies for several technology based start-ups in Colorado. David also led a strategic business unit at JD Edwards. Prior to JD Edwards, David spent eight years at TEAM A.T.E., a capital equipment dealer that provides appraisals and sales of capital equipment used in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards and semiconductors.

Additionally, he is the co-author, along with Chris Younger, of the book Harvest: The Definitive Guide To Selling Your Company, and has been published in ColoradoBiz magazine and The Denver Business Journal.

Professionally, David is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers. David holds the CBA (Certified Business Appraiser) designation, which is awarded to those who have successfully completed rigorous educational and testing requirements and are then certified by a highly critical peer review process. David has been recognized as a Distinguished Member of the Institute of Business Appraisers for his commitment to the valuation profession. He also holds 5 securities licenses (Series 24, 62, 79, 82, 99).

David is the former Chairman of Colorado Companies to Watch, and is involved with the Colorado State University Alumni Association, Sigma Chi Alumni Association, and Beta Gamma Sigma (National Business Honor Society for graduate level studies).
